Emotional Guidance

Tools and Techniques
Healing is a Process When we are in the process of healing we need to remember that our emotions are like a ladder and we need to move up - sometimes rung by rung - before we can get to those joyful emotions. If you are angry, be angry. The experience is calling you to feel angry. So do it. Then allow it to dissolve and move up. Don't assume you need to get to the top of the ladder by jumping ahead. You can't cheat your way there. It is a process. Sometimes a painful one but one where you are rewarded with Truth when you get there. Sometimes it isn't about feeling the highest vibing emotions but simply moving up to the next higher vibing emotion. When you get…

What is Your Impact?

What is Your Impact?

Energy - Sound, Touch and Smells, Tools and Techniques
We are not unlike this ball on a string. Our thoughts, words, and actions once set in motion is energy that will collide, affect whatever is in its path. We have an impact. What is my impact? I've been thinking about this a lot lately. What is my impact? How are others in my life impacting me? Do people consider the impact that they will have before they choose to act (or not act)? My impact can be big or small depending on my mood, energy, and words selected. I was at lunch the other day, and not being mindful of my words and actions, and so the impact that it had was unintended. Life Stages and Phases, Tools and Techniques
Our Story and Our Biology There is a relationship between our experience - and our story that we create based on that experience - and our biology, our physiology. This has been talked about in many books by many teachers. Our cells are a technology that makes experience into biology.  This video by Jason Silva touches upon that. "Everything that happens to us lays itself like tire tracks tattooing itself across our BodyMind and literally making us a product of what has come before." Trauma Experiences And so it would make sense then, at some level, that we could go back and change the narrative and by doing so change our cellular biology and physiology attached to that experience. This is, in effect, what we attempt to do when dealing with…

Risk-Taking and Bravery

Her Wild Ways, Tools and Techniques
Fear I see it over and over again with clients, friends and in my community. Women who have an intense desire to live their lives differently in some way, but lack the courage to step forward due to fear of retaliation, negative feedback, or the issues it COULD cause in relationships. The list of "should's" fill our mind overwhelming any connect to self. The ideals created in our mind based on societal pressures and all the lessons we have been taught over the years. Most of us live in a constant state of fear, some fears are subtle and manageable, while others are strong and paralyzing. Fear that we are not good enough, we are not worthy of our dreams, we are not supposed to want for more. We fear our…

Flourishing in Life

Flourishing in Life

Life Stages and Phases, Tools and Techniques
The PERMA model Martin Seligman's work on Well-Being constructed a model called PERMA. These five factors contribute to our overall well-being. And when we want to be "happier" in life and thrive, we need to examine these factors in our life. There are specific things we can do to improve each factor. You can go and take the PERMA test (free) at AuthenticHappiness.org. I suggest you create a free profile as you may need to go and take a few more tests. Don't worry the quizzes take very long to complete. While you are there take the Character Strengths test - it's great for identifying your strengths and what you need to be doing in your life to get you into the "flow Once you get your results look at each…
